UCI confirms 2027 WorldTour calendars as Vuelta España Femenina moves to September

The UCI has unveiled the 2027 calendars for the men’s WorldTour and the Women’s WorldTour, with the biggest change seeing the Vuelta España Femenina moved to the end of the season, immediately after the men’s Vuelta.

The calendars were approved by UCI members following their validation by the Professional Cycling Council at its meeting on 21 May.

Part of a broader reshuffle caused by the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships in Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc, which will take place from 24 August to 5 September, the revised schedule also affects the timing of the men’s Vuelta and several key races on the women’s calendar.

The 2027 men’s WorldTour will feature 36 events across 13 countries and four continents, covering 169 race days. The Women’s WorldTour will include 26 events across 11 countries and three continents, with a total of 69 race days.

Key changes in the men’s UCI World Tour 2027 calendar

La Vuelta Ciclista a España will return to a September-only format, running from 4 to 26 September. The shift is a direct consequence of the World Championships in Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc (24 August to 5 September).

Eschborn-Frankfurt will move away from its traditional 1 May date and instead take place on Sunday 2 May, one week after Liège-Bastogne-Liège. The German one-day race has long been associated with Labour Day.

The Tour de France is scheduled from 2 to 25 July. Its main preparation races will be the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the renamed Critérium du Dauphiné from 2026 onwards, from 6 to 13 June, followed by the Tour de Suisse from 16 to 20 June.

The early-season stage-race block remains unchanged, with Paris-Nice running from 7 to 14 March and Tirreno-Adriatico from 8 to 14 March. Strade Bianche opens the Italian spring on 6 March, ahead of Milano-Sanremo on 20 March.

The cobbled Classics will follow in April, with the Tour of Flanders on 4 April and Paris-Roubaix on 11 April. The Ardennes campaign concludes with Liège-Bastogne-Liège on 25 April.

Elsewhere, the Copenhagen Sprint is scheduled for 13 June, while the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec and Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal will take place on 10 and 12 September. The men’s WorldTour season will conclude with Il Lombardia on 9 October and the Tour of Guangxi from 12 to 17 October.

Women’s WorldTour 2027 - Vuelta moves to season finale

The most significant change on the Women’s WorldTour calendar is the relocation of the Vuelta España Femenina. The Spanish stage race will be held at the end of the season, directly after the men’s Vuelta, rather than in its traditional spring slot. Exact dates have yet to be confirmed.

Another notable development is the Santos Tour Down Under, where the men’s and women’s races will be staged simultaneously for the first time. The move had already been announced by organisers earlier this year but is now formally included in the UCI calendar.

The men’s race will run from 19 to 24 January, while the women’s event is scheduled for 22 to 24 January. For the first time, both races will be held at the same venue and on the same routes during the women’s three race days.

The Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift will run from 30 July to 7 August, starting slightly earlier than usual to accommodate the World Championships later in the month.

The Lloyds Tour of Britain Women, scheduled for 11 to 15 August, and the Classic Lorient Agglomération on 21 August have also been brought forward to create space around the Worlds.

The Giro d’Italia Women will take place from 29 May to 6 June as a nine-day stage race, while the Tour de Suisse Women is scheduled from 16 to 20 June.
