Country-by-country team overview – Worlds 2025 elite men's road race
The 2025 UCI World Championships elite men’s road race takes place on Sunday, 28 September, with 165 riders from 57 nations lining up in Kigali, Rwanda. Defending champion Tadej Pogacar (Slovenia) starts as the favourite, with newly crowned three-time time trial world champion Remco Evenepoel (Belgium) his chief rival. Isaac del Toro (Mexico), Juan Ayuso (Spain) and Tom Pidcock (Great Britain) are also in the hunt for the podium. Read on for the complete start list.

In total, 57 national teams will be represented in the elite men's road race across 165 riders, with defending champion Pogačar's Slovenian team featuring the maximum squad number of 9.
Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Italy, and Spain will be represented by 8 riders, while host nation Rwanda will see six riders line up, the same amount as fellow African nation Eritrea, as well as the Netherlands.
The team qualification system is based on the UCI World Ranking by nations, with the top 10 ranked nations able to select 8 riders. Slovenia have 9 riders because the defending champion isn't part of the qualification system, and thus Pogačar's 8 teammates fill the remainder of the quota. Nations ranked 11-20 can select 6 riders, nations ranked 21-30 can choose 4, and nations 31-50 can pick 1 rider.
