The 207-kilometre Omloop Nieuwsblad is the curtain raiser for the Classics, with the parcours featuring famous Flemish climbs from the 'Muur' to the Bosberg. In the 2026 edition of Omloop, the race sets off from Ghent on a 207-kilometre effort covering over 1600 metres of elevation across it, with 20 cobbled sectors to be completed before the finish in Ninove. Mathieu van der Poel is lining up for Omloop for the first time in his career. Will he be able to produce yet another cobbled exhibition or will the young guns such as Paul Magnier and Matthew Brennan spring a surprise?
